About the Role
The Associate Attorney will work closely with the Managing Attorney on active criminal defense, criminal appeals, and family law matters, with the opportunity to grow into an independent caseload over time. Responsibilities include reviewing transcripts, pleadings, and discovery materials; drafting motions and appellate briefs; communicating with clients; and assisting with case strategy and preparation. The Associate Attorney will also appear in court as needed.
Requirements
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (or pending graduation)
Licensed and in good standing with the state bar (or pending bar admission / recent graduate considered)
Experience or strong interest in criminal defense, criminal appeals, and/or family law
Strong legal research and writing skills (motions, briefs, pleadings)
Ability to review and analyze transcripts, discovery, and case filings efficiently
Comfortable communicating with clients professionally and compassionately
Courtroom experience preferred (hearings, appearances, negotiations), but not required depending on experience level
Highly organized with strong time-management and deadline-tracking skills
Ability to work independently in a remote/virtual environment
Willingness and ability to travel for court appearances as needed
Professional, reliable, and responsive communication style
